The post holder with regard to Mechanical Inspection will provide an inspection service on all Natural Gas, Oil, planned and response maintenance contracts to ensure the NIHE that all installations, servicing, and maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the contract documentation and the Statutory Regulations, materials and workmanship.

The post holder will inspect and measure works completed at various stages throughout construction including relevant certifications updating these on the NIHE computer database and maintain detailed records. The post holder will forward a report on their findings to the M&E Project Manager/Inspectorate Manager on a weekly basis.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

·       1. NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating, or equivalent level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating (e.g. Advanced City & Guild Craft in Plumbing and Heating)

·       2. i) A degree or equivalent Level 6* qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 1 year’s relevant experience working within a Building/Construction Function

OR

·       ii) A BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5* qualification in a Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 2 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function

OR

·       iii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning AND at least 4 years’ relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function (Please include dates)

·       3. Can demonstrate significant experience in Mechanical Installation, Inspection and Testing

·       4. Proficient in the use of all Microsoft packages

5. Must have:

·           Gas Safe: CCN1

·           OFTEC:  101

·       6. Candidates must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full

Immediate vacancies are based in the Belfast Region in the Housing Centre, Belfast, and in the North Region, with office bases in either Richmond Chambers,Derry/Londonderry or Twickenham House Ballymena.
