Salary: £37,280 – £42,839 annum.  We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.

Reporting directly to the Housing Policy Manager or the Housing Information and Tenancies Manager, the Assistant Principal Officer will provide detailed functional and assurance related support in the development and delivery of a number of strands relating to Housing Services in the area of Housing Policy, Information and Tenancies.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • i) Hold a degree level qualification (level 6*) or equivalent AND have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a policy development, customer service or assurance environment

OR

  • ii) Hold a level 5* qualification in Housing AND have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a policy development, customer service or assurance environment

OR

  • iii) Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning AND have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a policy development, customer service or assurance environment (Please include dates)

    • 2. Candidates must demonstrate at least 2 years experience in the development, review, implementation and/or delivery of strategies / policies / procedures / systems

    3. Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience in all of the following areas:

    • A) Experience of drafting formal written reports, as officer responsible, for senior managers to agreed timescales and appropriate standards and/or investigating issue and drafting effective customer responses
    • B) Working collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders showing an ability to negotiate and influence to achieve business objectives
    • C) Experience of leading / managing / developing / motivating / mentoring staff in order to achieve business objectives / make improvements
    • D) Monitor, analyse and interpret data and complex information in order to evaluate/monitor and/or improve performance, compliance or service delivery

     

    Desirable Criteria

    ·       1. A recognised professional Housing qualification is desirable.
