Salary: £45,091 – £51,356 per annum.  We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.

The Management Accountant (DPG) will act as the officer responsible for the development, improvement and management of budget controls and financial planning and reporting requirements in respect of the Social Housing Development Programme.

The essential criteria are detailed in the Candidate Information Pack.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a recognised professional accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent*) for example ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPFA.

*It is the candidate’s responsibility to demonstrate equivalency

  • 2. Can demonstrate at least one years’ post qualification experience in a senior financial role.

For the purposes of shortlisting, a senior financial role is defined as a role with:

  • A) Significant budgetary control responsibility,

OR

  • B) Responsibility for preparing and presenting budget / financial information to senior management,

OR

  • C) Responsibility for allocating / apportioning overhead costs to operational areas, agreeing service level agreements and reporting on the outcomes.
  1. Can demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in both of the following areas:

A) Budgetary control including setting budgets, analysing expenditure, reporting on variances,

3. Can demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in both of the following areas:

  • A) Budgetary control including setting budgets, analysing expenditure, reporting on variances, forecasting, and liaison with budget holders.
  • B) The use of a related financial management system and linked reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects, Crystal, Cognos, etc).

4. In addition, candidates must demonstrate at least 6 months’ experience in at least two of the following competency areas:

  • Experience in the preparation and evaluation of costings in respect of a substantial programme of projects.
  • Experience in developing new financial controls to support work processes and/or systems.
  • Experience of inter-agency partnership working in Social Housing at a strategic level.
  • Experience of budget profiling and production of complex spend scenarios as officer responsible.
  • 5. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
